Wednesday & Thursday “Transition Days” for Y1, Y2, Y3, Y4, Y5
Our pupils will temporarily move into their next class to spend time with their new teacher and learning support assistant in their new class. We use these days to help both students and teachers adjust smoothly to upcoming changes.
This time gives our pupils opportunities to ask questions or talk about any worries they may have.
Why do we arrange these “transition days”
Reduce anxiety: Moving up a year can feel intimidating, especially for younger children
Build familiarity: Children get used to the environment, teacher, and peers
Support teachers: Teachers can observe dynamics, abilities, and any support needs early
Smoother September start: The first official day feels more familiar and less overwhelming
